Over 75 years' experience in electrochemistry... Discover the secret of our know-how and expertise
Jacques Tacussel, an engineer, founded Tacussel in Villeurbanne. He quickly specialised in the design and sale of analysis and measurement equipment. A few years later, the company became part of the Radiometer group.
Following the merger of the two groups, Radiometer Analytical SA is born. This union propelled the company to significant growth, amplified by the worldwide expansion of electrochemistry thanks to new methods and applications discovered.
OrigaLys is founded by four R&D engineers, Frédéric DUSSAUT, Philippe BOSDURE, Serge COBOS and Jean-Marie GIRARD. Drawing on the knowledge they had acquired over the years at Radiometer/Tacussel, they decided to set up their own company, taking over the activities that Radiometer had discontinued, i.e. the production of scientific instruments for electrochemical measurements. OrigaLys was born in a business incubator in Rillieux-la-Pape. The company quickly developed its first potentiostat: the OrigaStat100 (also known as the OGS100) and its first software package: OrigaMaster.
The OrigaFlex range, including the multi-channel potentiostat, is launched, along with a second PC software package, OrigaViewer. At the same time, we strengthen our international presence by establishing a network of distributors around the world.
Expansion into a new market with the launch of the OrigaMeter range and a benchtop pH meter: the OpH218, dedicated to teaching.
BioMetriz was founded in Poitiers by researchers from ENSIP (specialists in water analysis) and acquired by the OrigaLys group in 2020. Drawing on its experience in the design of electrochemical measuring instruments, OrigaLys was able to share its experience and industrial know-how with BioMetriz to develop its 1st product in 2021: the Biofilm Monitor. This device enables the evolution of biofilms to be monitored, as well as the impact and effectiveness of treatments on the biofilm analysed. Several packs are available for hire or sale. The company decided to move to larger premises at 555 Chemin de Bois in Rillieux-la-Pape.
OrigaLys is launching its OrigaMux multiplexer for programming methods on a multitude of cells. The OrigaCorr has also been designed for corrosion analysis. This field instrument allows non-destructive measurements of corrosion rates. OrigaMux multiplexer OrigaCorr industrial field instrument
Extension of the OrigaStat range with the release of three entry-level benchtop mini-potentiostats: OGS050, OGS055 & OGS060. These are designed for training purposes and simple applications such as (in)organic chemistry, corrosion, sensors, batteries, photovoltaics, etc. Each instrument has a number of distinctive features: > Stand-alone use or use with a computer > Availability of methods > Measurement modes > Connectors available |
